Starting on 2 February and every Thursday between 7-9pm Ninja Tune & Solid Steel will be joining the likes of Clash, Data Transmission, Moshi Moshi, Ross Allen, Dazed + Confused, Stool Pigeon and Wichita in launching the new London radio station Strongroom Alive. The Solid Steel show will be presented live by Coldcut, alongside DJ Food and DK, with special guest mixes, interviews and competitions. Listeners in London can tune in to 87.9 FM and across the world on strongroom.fm, plus Freeview channel 111. Mixes from the show will be available to download the following day from solidsteel.net and Soundcloud as part of the weekly Solid Steel show.

Solid Steel in association with Serato (3rd February) Coldcut back again with the mixes featured in last night's show presented live on Strongroom.fm. Tune in every Thursday between 7-9pm UK Time for the presented version of this show. We kick off with a host of reggae stars taking turns over the "Joyride Riddim" , before heading into classic jungle territory with Solution, SVDL and the familiar sounds of Junior Reid. Bambounou and Africa Hitech keep the tempo, with a their own twist on proceedings and set us up for a 'Back to the Nineties' set featuring Meat Beat Manifesto, Eptome of Hype, Utu and LFO.

Coldcut continue into hour 2 with hip hop from Eric B & Rakim, KRS 1 and a track off the new Wiley album 'Evolve or be extinct'. It's more reggae from Ward 21 and beats n wobbles from An-Ten-nae and PH Fat, before we welcome the guest mix from Slugabed. The Brighton based producer has already had a couple of releases on Ninja Tune, along with a limited White Label 'Dangerous' which includes his Busta Rhymes remix featured in his mix. We also get a taste of tracks from his forthcoming album alongside music from Dirg Gerner, DELS, Cameo and Russian synth classic from Zodiac.

Cymatic Frequencies II by DK - Part 1

DK returns with 'Cymatic Frequencies II' and as before it's another AV mix. This is Part 1 of 'Best of 2011', taking personal favourites from his mixes this year and adding suitable and sometimes breathtaking visuals to compliment the audio. This Video Mixtape includes a few of the artists Original video's but in most cases visuals have been sourced from animation, CGI, Short Films, archive footage and edited to each track in the mix. Some of the 2011 musical highlights include Africa Hitech, Machinedrum, Peverelist, Skream, Pearson Sound, Thundercat, Michael Kiwanuka and the Stepkids, plus there's a few dips into the archive with Wayne Smith, Tribe of Issachar, Herbie Hancock, Burial and Vangelis.

Cymatic Frequencies II by DK - Part 2

We continue with the second part of Cymatic Frequencies II by DK, the Video Mixtape reviewing some of his favourite mixes from 2011 with added visuals. Using more Original Videos from the artist this time and the quality of the music is equally as good as Part 1. It's a sombre start with Gil Scott-Heron RIP, followed by James Blake and hip hop from Paul White, Danny Brown and Shabazz Palaces. Ninja Tune feature with Mr Scruff, Toddla T, Raffertie and Fink, with Big Dada represented by Wiley & Offshore. There's 2 from Martyn on Brainfeeder, Zed Bias features 3 times and it's big club tracks from Joe Goddard, Julio Bashmore and Fourtet. Plus there's a few classics from Liquid Liquid, Radiohead and Har You Percussion group to close a visual feast.
